  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Sea Salt
  • ¾ tsp Black Pepper

Cheese Mix Ingredients

  • 1 lb Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Extra Large Egg (Beaten)

For Garnish

  • ¼ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Ingredients? Check! Quantity? Check! Now, all that is left is the preparation, which is the vital part of the whole recipe. Joy Behar’s makes this lasagna without much effort, but still, it tastes mouthwatering. But remember, the most important ingredient for any dish is love!

1. Preparation of the oven and lasagna noodles

Preheat your oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure you center the oven rack.

You need to soften your lasagna noodles now. Just soak them in a large pot with hot tap water, and they will soften while you are busy making the sauce.

2. Preparing the meat sauce

You will need a large saucepan for it. Now drizzle two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in the saucepan and add the chopped onion. Fry the onions on medium-low heat until they become translucent, and then add the garlic. You will need to stir the garlic for a minute or two to mix up the flavor, but don’t burn it.

Now comes the sweet Italian sausage. Drizzle some olive oil in a skillet and cook the sausages on medium-low heat until they turn brown or become fully cooked.

Break the sausage up using a wooden spoon. Then, add all the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, marinara sauce, oregano, sea salt, black pepper, basil, and sausages. Let the meat sauce mixture simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.

3. Preparing the cheese

The cheese filling will make your lasagna stand out because it has two different kinds of cheese that complement each other really well. Take a large bowl and add your ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, freshly ground black pepper, sea salt, and a large beaten egg. Mix them all together, so the mixture is almost homogenous. Set it aside.

4. Lasagna assembling

You will need a 9”x 12”x 2” baking pan or a casserole dish. Now, use a ladle to scoop out your meat sauce and pour it into the dish. Make sure you cover the bottom of the baking pan or dish properly.

Add half of the lasagna noodles covering the sauce layer, then add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, half of the cheese fillings, and of the meat sauce.

Now, add the remaining lasagna noodles in a single layer with mozzarella, cheese fillings, and the remaining sauce.

5. Baking the lasagna
